Parents of students who are interested in Jr. High Football, please register your athlete on https://il.8to18.com/AshtonFranklin/home. Click on the "registration" button on the left. As long as we have enough to field a team, we will have Jr. High Football! As of right now, it is my belief that we will have one team for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. If we get more numbers, then we will be able to split into multiple teams. Contact Mr. Hamel at mhamel@afcschools.net with any questions!
Are you in need of school supplies for your student? Do you know someone who is? The ROE will be providing free school supplies to those in need. See the attached flier for more information.
Check out the information about our upcoming Volleyball camp for 7th and 8th grade students!
Parents of Kinders, First and Second Graders: Don't forget to find a paint shirt for your child when organizing back to school supplies. Mrs. Coffman's favorite kind is a long sleeve t-shirt that is a size or two too big for the child--an older siblings hand-me-downs work great for this! Kids can usually get these on and off without help and there are absolutely no buttons or finicky velcro to deal with! This saves precious art-making time! FYI, if a child does not have a paint shirt--they paint anyway!
Please have paint shirts by 8/21. Questions: lcoffman@afcschools.net.

Registration for incoming Freshman to join the SVCC Impact program is open through September 1st! Visit the SVCC Impact website for more information.
AFC Jr/Sr High saw 71% of Freshman students take advantage of this program while contributing nearly 600 hours of service to their community. We’ve set a goal to exceed these contributions in the coming year; to build post-secondary opportunities and invest in the AFC communities.
SVCC Student Spotlight: AFC’s Jack Delhotal shares about his experience in the Impact program. We are proud of you, Jack! Keep leading! #RaiderWay
*From SVCC Impact Program*
The Impact Program would like to introduce our first Student Spotlight- Jack Delhotal! Here are some questions we asked Jack.
What is the best part about volunteering?
-My favorite part about volunteering is serving and helping my community to make it better. Because I have pride in my community, volunteering is a great way to support and give back.
What have you learned throughout the Impact Program?
-When I volunteered at the Kitchen Table, I saw the immediate effect volunteering can have on the community. It allowed people to have a healthy and balanced meal at a price they could afford.
What would you tell other students about your experience with the Impact Program?
-What I would tell other students about the Impact Program is that it is a great educational opportunity because you get two years’ of paid college in return for volunteering and making your community better.
What are your current ideas for a career path or college major?
-I would like to go into Ag Business and work in agricultural finance.
What organizations have you volunteered with so far?
-I’ve volunteered with many organizations such as the Kitchen Table (in Rochelle), the Petunia Festival, the Dixon YMCA, the Franklin Grove Library, AFC School District Bitty Ball program, and the Franklin Grove Women’s Club Blood Drive.
Senior year will be here before you know it!! Time to plan your painted parking spaces. This year we will be adding JUNIORS as well.
Please email Mrs. Coffman for more information, lcoffman@afcschools.net. We will be planning a social event to kick it off and kids/families can work together to help each other out. Please respond by July 17th. TELL THE OTHERS!
