Congratulations to the AFC Academic Team for winning regionals last night! AFC had a small lead for most of the championship match, but Dakota tied the match on the last question. A big shout out to Lauren Stone for buzzing in on the tie-breaker question and leading AFC to a 360-340 victory. Other highlights of the night included a 410-170 win against Oregon in the semi-final match and Ayden Willstead setting the school record both for season scoring and all-time scoring for AFC! With the two victories last night, the Raiders improved their record to 30-9. AFC will continue play this Saturday in the Warren Sectional with matches against Winnebago, Riverdale, and Morrison.
Mrs Hurt stopped by WACC today to visit AFC students in their trade classes. Allied Health students are currently working on their phlebotomy certification and have a required number of “pokes” they must get in to become certified. Mrs Hurt volunteered to have a few of the AFC students practice blood draws when she stopped in. Our AFC students shined with their skill, maturity and dedication to their certification process. We are thankful for the opportunity to send AFC students to WACC where so many of them find a passion for their future trade.
Last Friday, AFC juniors and seniors visited NIU to learn more about their academic programs, the admissions process, and received a campus tour. Students also got to have lunch with AFC grads and learn more about their experience at NIU.
Best of luck to our High School Academic Bowl team as they travel to Amboy tonight for Regionals! Check out the schedule below if you'd like to go cheer them on!

More info coming soon, but here is a preview: Braelynn recently completed this after seven art classes, doesn't this look amazing? The art curriculum this year is focusing on student choice, and it was Braelynn's choice to create a pencil drawing of her dog while others worked on their own ideas. Please plan to attend
