Thank you to all the students and guardians that were able to attend this evening's 7th grade and Freshman orientation! Remember to scan the QR code given to ask any questions that came up after. Also a BIG thank you to the students and staff that organized and facilitated orientation.
The JH STEAM class explored fluid hydraulics using a Maker Kit. They had to design a machine that had a real-world application, build it, and then test it. Willie Schaneberg and Kaleb Gomez won the contest. Fun was had by all, and all students successfully built a working machine.
🚨Don't forget - all current 6th grade and 8th grade students and their guardians are invited to Orientation TONIGHT! Students will receive a tour and hear about the changes to expect from 6th to 7th grade in a new building and from 8th grade to freshman year🚨 6:00pm High school gym!

Tomorrow's softball and baseball games against Alden-Hebron will start at 5:00 rather than 4:30 due to busing issues for Alden-Hebron.

Ashton-Franklin Center Jr/Sr High School would like to thank Lee County Deputy Seeley for visiting Thursday and presenting a very knowledgeable, clear-well done presentation to our driver education class on the law “Drive Safe, Stop Safe.”
Thursday May 4th, 8th grade students toured Whiteside Area Career Center. Many of our AFC juniors and seniors that attend WACC presented to both AFC 8th grade students and other schools from the Whiteside area.

There has been a lunch menu change at the elementary school for Monday, May 8th. We will now be serving: turkey and cheese sandwiches, baby carrots, salad, fruit, and white or chocolate milk.
Tonight is senior night for softball and baseball. Both will be introduced with their parents at their respective fields before the start of the games, which is 4:30. The baseball team is also playing for a share of the conference championship! It's a beautiful day! Come out and support your Lady Raiders and Raiders!

Raider of the Week 5/3/23: Congratulations to Brock Lehman for being named this week's Raider of the Week for Baseball. Brock hit a 3 run home run (his first) in Polo to get the scoring started. Had 2 doubles in the other polo game to drive in 3 RBIs.
Stats for the week:
.364 AVG, .417 OBP, .818 SLG. 6 RBIs, 2 doubles, and a home run.
Brock is the son of Tammy and Tom Lehmean.

🎓Attention Graduates 🎓
Last week, twenty nine AFC students attended Manufacturing Day. They toured Crest Foods and Bonnell Industries, as well as participating in manufacturing competitions at Sauk Valley Community College. They learned about local manufacturing jobs and products made in the Sauk Valley area.
