Today's safety tip: The school vans do not have a stop arm or stop sign to signal for student safety. Drivers should take extra caution and ensure any students loading or unloading from school vans are a safe distance before driving around the van.
Save the date and join us for dinner! The students going to Ireland will be helping serve at Culver's in Rochelle on Oct. 23rd! A percentage of the sales will help the students pay for their trip. Hope to see you there! #AFCFFA
We are happy to announce this year's first Coffee With Administration is October 25th. We will meet in our newly renovated cafeteria at Ashton-Franklin Center Jr/Sr High in Ashton. This is a time to come together, get to know one another, and share what is happening at AFC. We ask that you park in the south parking lot and enter through the front entrance after the 8:15am bell. We look forward to seeing you!!

We want to thank each and every single one of our drivers that transport AFC students to and from school and school events safely. We asked our bus drivers what safety tips they'd like to share. Today's safety tip was shared by multiple drivers. Students should stay seated until the bus has stopped and the doors have opened. Bus safety features are most effective when students are seated and facing forward.

🚨REMINDER 🚨This Wednesday & Thursday AFC Jr/Sr High School will dismiss at 2:15pm and AFC Elementary School will dismiss at 2:30pm.
Please note that Wednesday will NOT be our regularly scheduled 1:15pm & 1:30pm dismissals. Instead they will be 2:15pm & 2:30pm to accommodate Parent Teacher conferences.
Parent Teacher conferences may be scheduled on your Skyward parent portal for the evening of 10/18 Wednesday & 10/19 Thursday.
There will be no school Friday 10/20.

The AFC FFA is having their annual Farmers Lunch Friday, October 13th. Please let Mallory Henert know if you would like to receive lunch and how many you may need by 1:15pm Wednesday, October 11th. You can call the day of to let them know where you would like them to be delivered. FFA Officers will deliver within a 15 mile radius of the High School. If you are located outside of the radius please make arrangements to have someone pick up your lunches at the ag shop at the high school (611 Western Ave., Ashton). State FFA Officer Riley Kessler and Section Officers Emma Dinges and Bryson Full visited AFC on October 2nd for a chapter visit. They talked with the Intro to Agriculture class about the three circles of agricultural education: the FFA, the classroom, and the workplace. Students took part in a lockbox activity where they had to look through documents relating to each of the three circles to find clues to open the locks. Students also participated in a goal-setting activity to help plan for their futures. #AFCFFA
On Sunday, students from AFC traveled to Rockford to compete in the Stateline Quiz Bowl against Pecatonica. This is the 2nd year that AFC has participated in this televised event and their episode will be the first one aired from Season 10! Tune in on October 21st and/or 22nd to watch the match. Team members included were: Colin, Zayne, Lauren, Kate, Ethan, and Ayden.
